If you are planning on storing your FlightScope unit for an extended period of time please note that batteries run down over time due to small leakage currents as well as internal chemical processes. To better preserve your radar unit over any extended period of non use, it is very important to take the following steps:
- Clean and dry the unit.
- Ensure that the battery is fully charged before putting it away for extended periods of time.
- Store the unit indoors, in its case, pouch, box, or backpack.
- Store in moderate temperatures, ideally between 60-70 deg F. Avoid hot and cold conditions.
- When stored for an extended period of time, the battery should be recharged every 2-3 months to ensure it does not become completely drained.
- When the time comes that you wish to use the radar again, please give it another full charge.
